The Managing Director of Jos Electricity Distribution Plc., Engr Abdu Bello Mohammed, has reiterated his call on communities in Plateau State to come to the rescue of the company by protecting its installations.
Engr Mohammed made the calls when representatives of Kwang and Mangu Hali communities in Plateau State paid him courtesy visits in his office.
The managing director who was perturbed by the high rate of vandalisation of electricity facilities, especially the transformers called on communities to help in safeguarding them.
“Help us to secure our facilities against vandalism. You can see that about 18 communities are currently having various cases of vandalism”, he said.

He therefore charged the various communities in the company’s franchise areas to organise vigilante groups which he assured would be greatly supported by the company.
In their respective remarks, the spokesman of the Kwang community, Mr Goeuam Anthony, and that of Mangu Hali, Hon. Yusuf Dashang, thanked the managing director for a purposeful leadership and said the power supply in Plateau State had considerably improved since coming on board.
The groups which urged him not to be deterred in his quest to navigate the company to a greater height also prayed for him to succeed.
