Two fleeing gunmen on Monday sent a farmer, identified simply as Joshua, on errand to buy cigarettes and wine for them in Bukpe village in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.
Our correspondent who visited Bukpe on Tuesday gathered from a resident who preferred anonymity that the gunmen were from fleeing from an onslaught by a team of policemen and vigilantes who stormed their dens in Sadauna and Odulo forests and freed over 70 abducted victims last week.
He explained that the two gunmen appeared on a farm near Bukpe village, met the farmer and gave him money to go and buy cigarettes and wine for them.
He further said, “The man abandoned his work and rode his motorcycle to this village and bought cigarettes and wine for them. When we asked him whether they were carrying guns, he said yes.”
