Two budding Table Tennis female students of the University of Calabar have said they will make positive impacts at the world universities games.
The games will hold in the city of Chengdu from 28 July 2023.
Oluchi Philip Amah, a 19-year 100-level Political science student and Oku Vivian Ekpenyong of the vocational education department qualified in the Nigerian Universities Games, NUGA, of last year.
In an interview, both said along with others, they were invited for trials in Benin City last week where they performed well and got selected for the China world tourney.

Vivian Ekpenyong said, “China varieties games will not be my first international competition. I was in Thailand for the world junior Table Tennis tournament and in Ghana, where my mettle improved.
“So, I am going to China with loads of experience. I will not disappoint my school and my country.
“However, I want to humbly appeal to the private sector to come in and help us. They should see Table Tennis as business. We need equipment. We can’t on our own afford them.”
But Oluchi said China will be her first international exposure, adding that she has previously played in two championships.
She maintained that as God helped her to always come out courageously with better performances, she will not disappoint in China.
“I am very excited to be selected for this world universities games in China. I will make a better impact,” she said.
