Lions Club seeks support for N1bn eye hospital in Abuja

The Lions Clubs International has called on the government and Nigerians to support the establishment of its over N1 billion eye hospital in Abuja.

The multiple council chairperson of the club Lion,   Obo Edet ,made the call yesterday while briefing newsmen ahead of the 16th Multiple District 404 national convention of the club in Abuja.

She said the hospital which is located in Piwoyi community of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will go along in providing quality eye care services  in the country.

She said, “So we are calling on governments and all the good spirited people  of this country to help put this project on. We have heard the amount that is marked for the project. The Lions cannot do it alone.”

The multiple district convention chairperson, Lion Lami Ahmed, said the convention was a way of bringing lions together annually , adding that it allows them  to  share best practices, review activity over the year, set new strategies and action plans for upcoming year and receive new members, among others.
