Banggz express his pain in “Placebo Effect”

Everybody has a different way of coping with their unique pain. You can’t blame anyone for wanting to experience feelings other than pain for a short while, even if they aren’t generally thought of as healthy by some.

In his latest single, ‘Placebo Effect’, Ontario-based artist Banggz exposes his vices.

The song begins with an electronic-sounding hip-hop beat until Banggz enters with the clever chorus, which talks about leaning on a partner to make his pain easier to handle.

He begins by saying; “ “Okay okay the Gemini Gem just Began again

Okay okay tryna find balance in between the pain

Okay okay she hit my line just to show me love again

Okay she took things just to open up again

I feel great already”

Although the song’s chorus gives the impression that the lover is a real person, the lover could also be taken to represent Banggz’ love of music.

Musicians, especially musicians of color, are frequently expected to draw on their own suffering in order to succeed in the business. The music video for the song emphasises this.

Banggz has a strong affinity for hip-hop and draws inspiration from various genres and styles from his country, creating a unique and approachable sound. Banggz is a natural storyteller who has the talent to paint pictures with words, sharing feelings and experiences that his audience can identify with.
