The leadership of the National Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) in Ogun State is enmeshed in crisis over N50 million donated by the state governor, Dapo Abiodun during the pre-election period in the state.
Abiodun had approved N50 million as a revolving loan to NATA members a few weeks to the governorship election.
But on Tuesday, aggrieved members threatened to physically attack the leadership of the association following their refusal to disburse the fund.
The spokesman for the aggrieved members of NATA, Sobowale Sobanke accused the state chairman and secretary of the association, Adeleke Balogun and Segun Osho respectively of embezzling the money provided for their association by the governor.

Sobowale alleged that NATA leadership in the state has embezzled the fund, disclosing that a paltry sum of N1 million was released to be shared at the rate of N5, 000 each for the entire members at his own mechanic workshop in Laderin, Abeokuta.
He appealed to the state government, security operatives, particularly the Department of State Security Service and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to help investigate the whereabouts of the money.
He said that knowing the whereabouts of the fund would avert the looming clash.
Reacting to the allegation, NATA State chairman denied the allegations, stressing that the entire money has been kept “at three different community banks” in the state.
Balogun promised to disclose the identities of the community banks after some time.
