Two women were killed and three others sustained various degrees of injuries when a mining pit collapsed on them at Bar Kudu village, Bogoro Local Government of Bauchi State.
The story was broken yesterday at the plenary of the Bauchi State House of Assembly by the member representing Bogoro Constituency, Musa Wakili Nakwada, under matters of urgent public importance.
Musa informed the House of a calamity that befell his constituency when a mining pit collapsed on five women at Bar Kudu.
According to the lawmaker, two of the women died while others survived with different injuries and fractures.

He added that funeral arrangements for the deceased had been concluded while the injured were receiving medical attention.
Responding, the speaker, Abubakar Y. Suleiman, condoled with the people of the constituency and called on Bogoro LGA to come to the aid of the victims and their families.
