Isiaka Alhassan Dogara, a cattle dealer abducted by gunmen from Chituma community in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, has regained freedom from captivity. A source in the community told City & Crime yesterday that Dogara was released alongside his 14-year-old daughter last Monday from a bush near Paikon-Kore-Dobi road.
“The gunmen agreed on the amount but with additional N15,000 recharge card. They initially refused to release them to the persons who took the money to them, as they directed them to leave.
“It was some hours later in the night that they released the victims, who trekked for a long distance to arrive at a herders’ settlement, where they were assisted to communicate their relatives,’’ the source, who craved anonymity for security reason, said.
He said their release coincided with the day a special prayer was offered for the victim’s father and his uncle, who were both killed by the gunmen during the kidnapping operation.
