No fewer than 5,602 students will graduate from Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti at its 27th convocation ceremony on Wednesday.
Also, 58 PhD, 86 masters and 63 PGD students would graduate from the college of postgraduate studies at another ceremony on Thursday.
The vice chancellor of EKSU, Prof. Edward Olanipekun, yesterday, at a press conference to commence the convocation ceremony, said 66 students would graduate with first class honours.
He also said a former vice chancellor, Osun State University, Osogbo, Prof. Labode Popoola, would deliver the convocation lecture on Tuesday on the topic, “The University System in Nigeria and the Sustainability Question.”

Olanipekun noted that the recent closure of the university due to students’ unrest over late registration fee had been addressed.
He said students would be called upon to come and write their examinations very soon, in phases.
“I am happy to report that 70 (86.4 per cent) out of our 81 regular academic programmes have full accreditation by the NUC, while eight (9.88 per cent) programmes have interim accreditation and only one (1.23 per cent), has a denial. The remaining two are those that are yet to mature for accreditation,” he added.
