The accountant of a popular factory, Fortunate Bread, Abdulrahman Abdullateef Oriyomi, and one Abiodun Oyedele, the PA to the proprietor, have been remanded by a magistrates’ court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, over an alleged N184 million fraud.
They were arraigned following a five-count accusation that contravened Section 1(3) of the Advance Fraud and Other Related Offences Act 2006 and sections 312, 309 and 289 of the penal code.
Alhaji Adejumo Akeem (owner of the bakery) petitioned the commissioner of police over the matter.
According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), “Oriyomi and Oyedele (PA to Akeem) criminal conspired to defraud the company of N184 million.

“Although Oriyomi, who is from Oke-Ode, Ifelodun Local Government Area, rose from general secretary in 2018 to the position of accountant in 2022, an audit in March 2023 revealed that N184 million only was criminally misappropriated from the company account, which the accountant could not give a satisfactory explanation on.
The prosecutor, Gbenga Ayeni, urged the court to remand the suspect.
In his ruling, Magistrate Gbadeyan Kamson, ordered the remand of the suspects and adjourned the case to April 17, 2023.
