An educationist and convener of the Annual School Needs Exhibition (ASNE), Mrs Emem Opashi, has urged the Federal Government to spearhead overhaul of the nation’s education sector.
Opashi said in Abuja that part of the reform was to evolve a policy to improve teacher qualities and promote better learning among students at all levels.
“Nigeria’s education sector has been on a downward trend, especially on the usage of modern technology. There must be concerted efforts to be led by the Federal Government to reverse this trend. Education should be more innovative and goes beyond the four walls of the classroom.
“It is important for us to promote quality education in Nigeria and connect business with education because the school system needs a new network of resources; human and material, to be above board,” she said.
