Woman stabbed to death in Ogun

A 22-year-old graduate of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Miss Kabirat Sobola, has been reportedly stabbed to death.

The late Kabirat, an ND holder, was reportedly murdered in her room in Abeokuta on Friday.

A family member who simply identified herself as Mrs Sobola said the family heard that despite that an arrest had been made, the police were not doing enough to bring the perpetrators to book.

She alleged that the police did not investigate the case thoroughly, ignoring crucial parts of the case.

She said, “Kabirat was found dead on her bed with a knife beside her, having a deep cut on her neck and her chest.

“Her phone was missing, the police have neglected these parts without mentioning them in their report.

“When she was missing for days, her boyfriend went to make a complaint at the police station on Friday, which was on the 3rd of March, and he went to the DPO.

“According to the DPO, the boyfriend met him at the counter, saying he was looking for his girlfriend, the DPO suspected him because it’s not up to 24 hours.”

She added that, “We want justice for the girl, justice must be done because we are suspecting the police are trying to manipulate things; I hope they have not been bribed.”

The command’s spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident, said the matter had been taken over by the homicide section of the command.
