Ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023, American kit company Nike has introduced new jerseys, including the home and away shirts for Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
Nike unveiled the jersey that will be worn by 11-time African champions as they prepare to compete in their ninth World Cup.
The home jersey is constructed in a vivid green colour similar to that worn by Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the 2002 World Cup, and it features the standard Nike collar design in white to reflect the country’s key colours.
It also features a unique pattern on the cuffs and socks which Nike says is based on “traditional Nigerian artwork and textiles.”

Nigeria’s second/away kit is a very dark shade of green, which is decorated with luminous patterns across its entirety that are made up of “traditional prints” and modern designs that serve as a homage to the team’s name “Super Falcons”.
Nike also unveiled jerseys for other nations that it will kit at the Women’s World Cup, including hosts New Zealand and Australia, as well as Brazil, England, France, Korea, Netherlands, Canada, Norway, Portugal, China, and defending champions USA.
The Super Falcons will kick off their campaign against Canada on the 21st of July in the second Group B encounter of the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
The Falcons will play their second game on July 27 against host Australia in Brisbane, and the last group game on July 31 against Ireland in Brisbane.
The team will be hoping to break its quarter-final feat achieved at the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
