The defence counsel in the ongoing trial of alleged culpable homicide against a Chinese man, Frank Geng Quarong, has presented a urologist, Dr Abdullahi Abubakar, as defence witness 2 (DW2).
At the resumed hearing on Thursday, Dr Abubakar in his evidence told the court that he had been practicing as a urologist for over 30 years and that he taught some courses in the field at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) for 13 years.
Recall that Frank earlier told the court that Ummukulsum injured him on his genitals.
Reacting to Frank’s alleged genital attack, Abubakar told the court that he had been practicing as a urologist for over 30 years and that he taught at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) for 13 years.

He said, “I retired in 2018 but I’m still active in practice. In the human body, the testicle is more sensitive because it has sensory nerves when it is pulled; fright, fight and flight will occur and cause inflammation problems and may cause erectile dysfunction and urinary problems.
“As a result, the blood pressure will fall, there will be low levels of oxygen in the brain and the patient may faint or get shocked. So, in order to survive the action, you try to fight the situation.”
The prosecution team, led by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Aisha Mahmoud, prayed the court to order the defence team to supply them with a list of all witnesses they intended to call, as well as a medical dictionary, to enable the prosecution conduct cross examination.
The Judge, Justice Sanusi Ado Ma’aji, ordered the defence counsel to furnish the prosecution as prayed and adjourned the case to April 6.
Daily Trust recalls that the defendant earlier told the court that Ummukulsum grabbed his genitals which made him stab her.
