Kwara: 5-year-old, 2 female apprentices freed after ransom

Three persons abducted last week in Aboto in Asa LGA of Kwara State have been freed.

The victims, 5-year-old Abdulbasit and two apprentices, Fatimah and her colleague, regained their freedom after the payment of N1.7m ransom, City & Crime gathered.

The kidnappers had demanded N10m for Abdulbasit, whose father, Abdulfatai, escaped during the abduction.

Spokesman of the state police command, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the development during a telephone chat with our correspondent, adding that one suspect had been arrested.

According to a resident, who identified himself as Ola, the kidnappers collected N200,000 for Abdulbasit and N1.7m for the two female apprentices at the weekend.
