Gunmen have abducted a farmer, Adewumi Babatunde, on his way from his farm in Omu-Ekiti, in Oye LGA of Ekiti State.
Information gathered revealed that Babatunde was abducted on Sunday afternoon between Omu and Ayede-Ekiti.
Speaking on the development, the wife of the victim, Mrs Bosede Babatunde, said the kidnappers later contacted the family and demanded N3m ransom.
The traditional ruler of the town, the Owajumu of Omu-Ekiti, Oba Adeyeye Ogundeyi, while condemning the act, lamented the incessant kidnapping of indigenes of the area, especially farmers.

When contacted, the Ekiti State police spokesman, Sunday Abutu, said he had not been briefed on the matter but promised to find out the details.
