Foundation donates food items, clothes to over 500 people in Kano

An NGO, Zaytun Humanitarian Foundation, in Kano State, has flagged off donation of food items and clothes to over 500 people.

The Items distributed included maize, rice and clothes to be used during the Sallah festival as a means of providing relief to the needy.

The Project Coordinator of Zaytun, Muhammad Sani, said while the gesture was an annual activity by the foundation, it was deemed necessary at this time looking at the hard situation people found themselves in.

He said, “The rationale behind the donation is to give relief to the needy – the less privileged members of society, single mothers and orphans so that they will have ease in this current situation and as we are going into 30 days fasting.

“We are targeting over 500 individuals to benefit from this gesture. Each person is expected to utilise what he or is being given and remember others also later when they are privileged.”

The beneficiaries thanked the foundation for coming to their aid, especially at a time when most of them were thinking of how to survive during the 30-day fasting.
