Barrister Festus Okoye The Whistler by John Grisham

Barrister Festus Okoye’s last good read is John Grisham’s latest novel, ‘The Whistler’. “The characters have a law background and it’s weaved around law issues. I like his books because most of the scenes are gripping and most of the characters are lawyers. Sometimes you see yourself in the books and what you do,” he says.

Okoye is the Executive Director, Human Rights Monitor, and Solicitor at the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985, he is a pro-democracy and human rights activist. An indigene of Imo State, he has spent most of his years in Jos and Kaduna, where he is currently based. He is one of Nigeria’s most respected legal luminaries.
