Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, yesterday, reiterated his support for the reelection of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while hosting the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, at his palace.

The monarch told Gbadebo who came in the company with his father and other supporters on a courtesy visit that Sanwo-Olu would win Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

“Please, don’t relent after this contest but I am fully behind Sanwo-Olu,” he told the LP candidate.

The monarch, who said that Gbadebo has a bright future, wished him well in his future endeavours while calling for a peaceful poll in the state.

“I am not a hero worshipper and gossiper. For Gbadebo, the future is open to you. God will not kill you; there is nothing wrong in you contesting. All of those contesting are my children,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign council in the state, Dr Seye O’Dairo, has resigned from his appointment less than 48 hours to the poll.

He announced his resignation yesterday in a letter addressed to the PDP candidate, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran.

Daily Trust gathered that the former DG would join the LP team in the state.

However, Adediran while addressing newsmen at his campaign office in Ikeja, maintained that the PDP had no official alliance with any political party and he would not step down for any candidate.

He urged residents to support his ambition, having presented himself against all odds to challenge the status quo in the state.

Meanwhile, a video emerged yesterday where the leader of the Lagos Motorparks Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, warned non-indigenes to stay at home if they won’t vote for the APC.

While addressing members of the park management and APC supporters in a viral video, Oluomo, who advised them to ensure they vote first, said they knew what to do if things were not going as planned.

“We have begged them… if they don’t want to vote for us, it is not a fight. Tell them, Mama Chukwudi, if you don’t want to vote for us, sit down at home. Sit down at home,” he said in a viral video shared on Twitter.
