The Bauchi State Police Command has recovered 23 firearms from miscreants during arms mop up operations across the state ahead of the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
The command’s spokesman, SP Ahmed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, said the command conducted several operations which resulted in significant achievements, including recovery of nine AK-47 rifles, seven locally made firearms, one Light Assault Rifle (LAR) and six Dane guns.
He further said, “18 magazines, 87 rounds of live ammunition, 22 rounds of live 7×62.51mm NATO ammunition, 58 rounds of live 7×62.39mm ammunition, seven 9mm live ammunition, four machetes, one knife and three military camouflage uniforms were equally recovered.”
