A scrap dealer in Kano State, Nasiru Ghali, has been dragged before a Shariah court sitting in Gama for allegedly setting ablaze a car during a political rally in the state.
Ghali, alongside three others who are yet to be arrested, was arraigned for burning a Mercedes Benz.
When the charges were read to him by the prosecution council, Aliyul Abidin, the defendant pleaded not guilty.
Counsel to the defendant, Barr Sunusi Dandago, applied that the court should grant his client bail.

Justice Nura Yusuf Ahmad granted bail to the defendant with a condition that he would bring someone who was a resident of Kano and owned a house and adjourned the case to March 30.
