The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Friday denied endorsing any of the governorship candidates from the two major political parties in Kaduna State for the governorship election billed to hold on March 18.
The party described as “fake news” insinuations making the rounds in the state that the party has thrown its weight behind the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The chairman of the party in the state, Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha, told reporters in Abuja that the party under his leadership will not align with either the PDP or APC.
Mustapha said, “African Democratic Congress, Kaduna State Chapter, with the highest agents’ list and candidates for the 2023 election, cannot be blackmailed with fake news, be hoodwinked cheaply or intimidated under my watch.

“We remain resolute and focused ahead of the March 18th 2023 governorship elections. It has come to our knowledge that some political miscreants are going about carrying fake news that our party, the ADC Kaduna State, has aligned and endorsed one of the two major political parties in the state.”
Daily Trust reports that nine governorship candidates of different political parties in Kaduna had last week endorsed Isah Ashiru of the PDP as their consensus candidate for the election earlier slated to hold tomorrow before it was postponed by the INEC.
