A youth driven social enterprise, Opportunities Hub (OHUB) has organized the first of its entrepreneurship and job creation summit in Katsina.
The Convener of the gathering and founder of OHUB, Dr. Babangida Ruma, at the opening ceremony in Katsina town, said: “It’s time for us to work together to strengthen our communities and build the capacity for our youth. That work begins by empowering our existing entrepreneurs and startups at the local level.”
He also said the hub was lunching its Digital Innovation Centre (DIC) to train, connect, and elevate entrepreneurs. It is to equip them with the tools to build a more robust and inclusive business model from the ground up.
The founder of YES – Hub, Ismail Bello, said: “The accelerated way of doing business will now be to innovate disruptive digital technology entrepreneurial models to build scale and traction for SMEs.

“To be competitive, there will be a need to amplify knowledge access among SMEs founders towards using technology tools to build competitive advantage for their businesses. The ability to have access to the use of technology tools will simplify business operations.”
Bello further noted that innovation in newer technologies that provide simplicity to complex problems and challenges is key for massive disruption.
“Therefore, important opportunities to build an open-source platform that will profile digital technology skills platform, so that African budding and existing entrepreneurs and social innovators will be able to learn practical digital technology skills to promote their businesses.”
The platform is meant to create massive employment opportunities and wealth creation for Africans. The organisers believe that the next African Unicorn will be built in this new age.
