The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday issued certificates of return to winners of the February 25 House of Representatives elections.
INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu presented the certificates to the members-elect on at the national collation centre, Abuja.
However, the declared winner in Akoko South-West Federal Constituency of Ondo State, Adegboyega Adefarati, did not receive certificate of return as his name was not among the reps-elect pasted by the commission.
Though he contested the election under the platform of the APC, the INEC’s winners list contained ‘Court Order’ in front of Adefarati’s name.

Daily Trust reports that a Federal High Court sitting in Akure had earlier disqualified Adefarati after declaring as null and void the APC primary election in the federal constituency,
Also, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ado Doguwa, was not given certificate of return.
INEC had removed Doguwa’s name from the list as winner the election in the Doguwa/Tudunwada constituency, Kano, from the APC saying the election result was declared under duress.
Doguwa was on Wednesday remanded in prison custody by a Chief Magistrate Court in Kano.
Meanwhile, INEC has declared that there was no winner in the February 25, National Assembly election in Doguwa/Tudunwada Federal Constituency.
Alhassan Doguwa, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, who contested on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, was initially declared winner, but the electoral umpire delisted his name from the reps-elect list and refused to issue him a certificate of return.
The commission said Doguwa was earlier declared winner of the election under duress and later Doguwa was arrested in connection with the violence which broke out in the constituency during the collation of results.
