Thirty-eight days after one of the wives of the District Head of Bukpe in Kwali Area Council of the FCT, Mrs Sadiya Hassan Shamdozhi, and two of sons, Hamisu and Osama, were abducted by gunmen, the abductees are still in captivity.

City & Crime had reported that the victims were picked by armed men on Saturday, February 4, 2023.

City & Crime also reported that the abductors last week insisted on collecting a N6m ransom and asked the chief to sell his car to raise the money.

Speaking to our reporter on Tuesday through telephone, a relative of the monarch, who preferred to remain anonymous, said the family had exhausted all avenues to raise the N6m.

He said, “The person negotiating with the leader of the gunmen pleaded with them to accept the little money the family has struggled to raise, but they insisted on collecting N6m and even asked the chief to go and sell his car to raise the money.”

The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, was yet to comment on the matter at the time of filing this report.
