The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has ordered the deployment of 40,000 personnel for the Easter celebration across the nation.
A statement from the corps spokesman, Emmanuel Okeh, stated that apart from the deployment of personnel "sniffer dogs, specialised units, such as CBRN, Special Force, Counter Terrorism, Ambulances, Surveillance team are to be deployed to strategic areas."
Gana also directed the Zonal Commanders and State Commandants to ensure efficient deployment of their personnel to all nooks and crannies for effective policing of lives and property against any form of attack.
He urged personnel to work in synergy with other sister agencies "as the Corps will not tolerate any form of sabotage and crisis between the Corps personnel and other sister agency over issues that could be avoided".
Gana enjoined parents to warn their wards to desist from any act that is inimical to the society during this festive period as " anyone caught, the long arm of the law will takes it course."
