Deputy Inspector General of Police ( DIG) in charge of Logistics and Supply and Coordinator, South East Geopolitical Zone, John Amadi, has expressed the readiness of the police to ensure hitch-free elections on Saturday.
He spoke on Wednesday in Owerri, Imo capital, when he visited the State Police command to assess their readiness for the election.
Amadi told officers and men of the command to adhere strictly with the instructions of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Ahmed, on their conduct during the elections.
He warned that the authorities would not fail to use the full weight of the law on erring policemen.

During the visit, Amadi lectured officers and men of the command on election security management, as well as assessed the readiness of Imo Command to provide adequate security in the state in the forthcoming general elections.
The DIG charged all officers of the Command to exhibit the highest sense of neutrality and professionalism by delivering a quality, civil oriented and human-right compliant Police security service on the day of elections and beyond.
He also enjoined the command to synergize with other sister security agencies in the state in so as to bequeath residents a peaceful, secured, credible and acceptable general elections.
Present to receive the DIG were the Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, the CP in charge of Imo North for elections duty, Alexander Nengi, the DC Administration, DCP Ukachi Peter Okpara, , DCP Olufemri Haruna the DC Operations, DCP Haruna Sirajo Mohammed, the DC SCIID, the Management team and other officers of the command.
