Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has appointed 12 new permanent secretaries for more effective and efficient public service delivery in the state.
A statement issued on Wednesday in Kano by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Abba Anwar, said all the appointments were with immediate effect.
The governor said the newly appointed permanent secretaries had proved their mettle in public service engagement.
“We believe in their undoubting capacity, as diligent screening and scrutiny were applied in the selection process.”

Those appointed are Mansur Yakubu, who until his new appointment was a director in the state Ministry of Works; Salisu Dan Azumi, a director in the Ministry for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs; and Dr Sa’adatu Sa’idu Bala, a director in the Ministry of Health.
Others are Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi, who before his appointment was the Executive Secretary, Science and Technical Schools Board; Baba Sharu Dala, a director in Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission; and Aliyu Yakubu Garo, a director in the Ministry of Tourism.
Also among the appointees are Abbas Sanusi, Dr Tijjani Hussain, the Executive Secretary, State Primary Healthcare Development Board; and Yahaya Nuhu Amasaye, a director in Ministry for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Others are Aisha Abba Kailani from the Office of the Head of Service, Mustapha Madaki Huguma, a director in the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB); and Musa Tanko Garko from the Office of the Head of Service.
