2023: Road Safety to deploy 21,783 personnel, 941 vehicles

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dauda Ali Biu, says over 21,000 officers and men alongside 941 different operational vehicles have been mobilized for the forthcoming elections.

Biu, who disclosed this in a statement signed by Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, an Assistant Corps Marshal, yesterday in Abuja, said the corps was determined to ensure that the elections are conducted in a smooth, hitch-free, and very successful manner.

He said being a member of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee (IPAC) on Election Security; the agency will work alongside other security agencies to ensure orderliness and timely delivery of election materials.

He said the corps will ensure screening and accreditation of vehicles hired by INEC from road transport unions for the conveyance of sensitive and non-sensitive materials, and ensuring orderliness at polling units and countering activities that could undermine the election.”
