The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Kano, Bashir I. Bashir, has officially made his declaration of leaving the party and his contest and joined the folds of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Bashir, while briefing journalists Friday evening in Kano also endorsed the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmad Tinubu, before proceeding to open his campaign office.
“We have also resolved to leverage our existing political structures to work on the mass mobilisation of voters and swinging of votes to ensure his emergence as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the 2023 Presidential Election. We shall be known as Game Changers for Asiwaju and Shettima 2023.
Daily Trust reported that Bashir had confirmed meeting the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, in Abuja on Sunday.
Pictures of the LP candidate trended on social media on Sunday, with allegations that he has defected to APC and has abandoned his governorship ambition.
