A Gombe-based political group has mobilised voters to vote for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, ahead of Saturday’s presidential election.
The group, known as ‘Yarma For Atiku’ said it has organised several campaign tours to mobilise electorates in communities across Gombe State, to come out in mass and vote the former vice president as the next president.
In an interview with newsmen, Convener of the group, Malam Farouk Yarma who led other Atiku Support Groups during the mobilisation, said the exercise was organised because of their belief in Atiku’s starling qualities and experience.
He added that the rally was meant to encourage people, especially supporters of PDP to turn out massively for the presidential election.

Yarma, who is a former Commissioner of Youth Empowerment in the state, disclosed that the group has distributed football kits to more than 200 football clubs, and distributed food stuffs to less privileged and other vulnerable people in the state.
“We also purchased JAMB forms and distributed campaign souvenirs to the electorate, particularly within the Gombe metropolis. We have been sponsoring television and radio programmes to sensitise the general public on the benefits of returning PDP to power at all levels.
“We are using the goodwill, religious and community leaders to campaign for Atiku and Okowa in the presidential election,” he said.
Yarma added that the numerous political activities conducted by the group have significantly increased support for the PDP presidential candidate in the state.
