Driver sentenced to 4 days community service

A mobile court in Benin, Edo State, has sentenced a commercial bus driver, Tobore Emurerhi, to four days of community service over reckless driving and also fined N50,000.

Emurerhi was apprehended by officials of the Edo State Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) while driving a Nissan Vanette bus with registration number: BEN 34 XE, against traffic.

After being arraigned by PUWOV, the defendant pleaded guilty and pleaded for leniency.

The court ordered that the convict would clear drains for two hours daily for four days and also pay a fine of N50,000.
