Kebbi Central: Aliero confident of victory after S/Court judgement

A former Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Adamu Aliero, has expressed optimism that he will win the Kebbi Central senatorial election after the Supreme Court affirmed him as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.

Aliero, who currently represents Kebbi Central in the senate, stated this in an interview with newsmen in Birnin Kebbi yesterday.

He said despite the internal wrangling, the PDP in Kebbi remained an indivisible political party and that all the “grey areas have been resolved.

“Our focus now is to win elections scheduled for this and next month. The hardships Nigerians are going through as a result of APC’s misrule are mind-touching and unacceptable in the 21st Century.

“When voted into power, the PDP will restore the past glory of our nation, alleviate poverty among the people, dismantle security challenges and strengthen democratic values.”

He called on PDP supporters in the state to distance themselves from political and electoral violence because such actions were capable of destroying the image of the party already cruising to victory.

Senator Aliero, who was elected senator on the platform of the APC, dumped the ruling party after he lost the party’s ticket to the state’s Governor, Atiku Bagudu, who is also seeking to represent Kebbi Central in the senate.
