Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Nairaxi, the indigenous tech mobility platform has tasked party presidential Candidates to outline feasible post fuel subsidy Intervention initiative for Nigerians.
According to the company, citizens have expressed worries and uncertainties in the proposed removal of subsidy from petrol without tangible negative effect cautioning programs in June 2023.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen on Tuesday, Nairaxi explained that the ongoing hardship could exacerbate if adequate tech related interventions are not in place, owing to the current realities and unanimous decision on fuel subsidy removal by party candidates if elected.
The statement noted that Nigerians are already struggling to withstand challenges created by the sudden return of heavy queues in our petrol stations, high cost of transportation, newly redesigned naira notes and the cashless policy spearheaded by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
However, intervention like Nairaxi Digital Transit Subsidy Program and the Automated Fare Collection System provided via a cutting edge Mobile application will be efficient in delivering sustainable palliative to average Nigerians in need of affordable transport and logistics services.
Nairaxi also maintained that there are no post fuel subsidy intervention programs at the moment, calling on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to initiate a sustainable tech driven intervention program which can be modified and integrated by his successor.
“We must be very proactive as a country as this is the best time to roll our programs to ensure that we avoid any economic disruption as a result of the hike in the price of PMS immediately after the subsidy regime is over,” it said.
