With less than 20 days to the Presidential election, the Peoples Democratic Party “PDP New Generation” has asked Nigerians to throw their weight behind the candidate of the party Atiku Abubakar as he has what it takes to bridge the gab between the old and New Generation in politics.
Addressing Journalists in Abuja on Monday, Founder and Director General of the Group, Audu Mahmood also said has put in measures to bring the young ones into his administration because he recognized the “importance of Youths as veritable and an uncontestable socio-political, economic asset and the vanguard for change.”
Mahmood lamented that previous administration missed the opportunity of youth inclusion in governance and as such missed the “energy, drive and focus of the youth, only to celebrate the many feats of the youths that they lacked the understanding.”
He also disclosed that the New Generation group has commenced a nationwide grass-root mobilization and awareness exercise tagged Mop-Up Campaign for Atiku.
He said: “Our structures across the country have started visiting markets, shopping malls, schools, and also door-to-door campaign, ward-to-ward campaign.
The exercise, which started on 1st Feb, will last till end of the campaign season. It will be carried out simultaneously across the country with the aim of reaching out to the grass-root to canvass for votes for the Atiku/Okowa ticket and other PDP candidates at all levels.”
The leader of the group also said the Nigerian youths have proven their worth over the years and are ready to assume social, economic and political responsibilities in our national development.
“Atiku Abubakar, will link not only the youths at home, but also place us at the right level of global development highway as part of his agenda to turn things around in the country.”
