Mrs Olayinka Kayode, a 32-year-old woman who was kidnapped together with her daughter on Tuesday in Osogbo, Osun State, has been freed.
The release of the woman was confirmed on Thursday by SP Yemisi Opalola, the police spokesman in Osun, and Rev Sunday Adeoye, a senior pastor with the Union Baptist Church, Odi-Olowo, Osogbo.
The pastor said in a statement issued by the church’s spokesperson, Mr Oluwamayowa Fagbohungbe, that the woman and her daughter were released on Thursday.
He, however, did not say whether a ransom was paid, but appreciated security agencies, members of the church and the media for their prayers and support towards the release of the victims.

Also, Opalola confirmed the release of the victims, but said she was awaiting further details.
It was learnt that the woman, a teacher in the Union Baptist Church, and her daughter were kidnapped around 6pm on Tuesday while returning home from her shop and that the kidnappers called her husband and demanded N5m for their release. (NAN)
