Ekiti prosecutes pastor for building church illegally

The Ekiti State Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has dragged Prophet Emmanuel Femi Arowolo of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church on Surulere Street in Ado-Ekiti before a magistrates’ court for flagrant violation of physical development laws, rules and regulations.

The prosecutor told the court that the ministry, while on routine inspection on June 16, 2022, saw an illegal construction of a building suspected to be a church and therefore placed an enforcement notice on the property.

The Magistrate, Mrs Bunmi Bamidele, ruled that no further construction should be carried out on the premises until the suit was determined by the court.

She noted that the prophet’s bail would be revoked if he disobeyed the order of the court.
