The Murtala Muhammed Area Command (MMAC) of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted military and police hardware at the cargo section of the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos.
Also intercepted were hard drugs including 162 cartons of banned Tramadol hydrochloride 225 and 250mg.
The Customs Area Controller of the MMAC, Compt. Sambo Dangaladima, said the items were intercepted at the Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO).
He gave the breakdown of the seized items to include 309 pieces of military helmets, 106 pieces of military armless jackets, 352 pieces of ballistic body armoured pads, 119 pieces of police badges, five pieces of bulletproof jackets, 33 pieces of body side ballistic pads and 105 pieces of ballistic chest plates.

He said a suspect, Olaolu Marquis, was arrested in connection with the seized military wares while another suspect, Samson Olayiwan Tantolohun, of 29 Okejide Street, Ejigbo, Lagos, was arrested in connection with the intercepted hard drugs.
