Court stops TCN, Kano govt from demolishing structures under power lines

A Federal High Court in Kano has ordered the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Kano State government not to demolish structures under power lines in parts of the state.

The court, presided over by Justice Usman Na Abba, ordered the authorities involved to maintain status quo until further pronouncement at the next sitting.

City & Crime had reported how residents of Gaida area of Kumbotso LGA in Kano had organized a prayer session against a notice of two weeks issued to them by TCN to vacate their houses, saying it will demolish all buildings across power lines in the state.
