The Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society of Nigeria (AIS) has urged Nigerians to go beyond collecting their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and use them to vote for credible candidates in this year’s elections.
The Chief Imam of AIS, Ustaz Fuad Adeyemi, made the call in Abuja during a Khutbah (special Friday sermon) marking the organisation’s 20th anniversary.
According to him, it was important for citizens to vote their conscience and not because of money or other non-nationalistic considerations.
He also said that the organization, apart from the FCT, was physically present and active in Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna, Kogi, Lagos, Osun, Oyo, and Niger states, with a plan to expand to other parts of the country.

He listed some of the interventions of the society to include Al-Habibiyyah Food Bank and Feed-the-Indigent programmes which debuted almost two decades ago; where not less than 3,000 people have been fed daily annually for the 30-day Ramadan and on the day of Eid.
