A director of Media Trust Group, owners of Daily Trust, Trust TV and other titles, Alhaji Aminu Dangana, has been turbaned as the Matawallen Tudun Wada by the Village Head of Tudun Wada town in Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State. The title, which is the first of its kind in the history of the council, was conferred on Dangana for his tremendous contribution to the development of his immediate community.
He was turbaned alongside other prominent people in the community, who were given different titles to serve in the council with the consent of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, who was represented by the District Head of Nassarawa.
Speaking shortly after he was turbaned, Alhaji Dangana said he was excited to have himself back to society to give his quota to the development of the community.
He added that some of his friends were not alive to witness the occasion, hence, the need to thank Almighty God for sparing his life.

“One of the reasons why we are appointed is to come closer to our people. We have been working elsewhere, we have been giving our quota to so many communities. Now, we are back closer to our people so we know their problems and are in a better position to help them in uplifting their lives.
“It is a title that comes along with responsibilities. It is also a title that will help to strengthen the relationship between people of Tudun Wada and the rest of the communities in Nigeria as a whole. So, it is a welcome development and I am happy, overjoyed and I pray that God Almighty will help us to discharge the responsibilities that have been placed on us.”
Speaking on behalf of the new title holders, the Matawalle thanked the entire Kano Emirate and the Tudun Wada LGA for the gesture, adding that they will commit themselves to developing the community.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Group General Manager, Human Resources & Management Services of Media Trust Group, who is also a member of the community, Hajiya Hadiza Ibrahim Bala, described the appointments as well deserving and a move towards strengthening relationships in the community.
“I am a member of this community through my parents and great grandparents. This is the first time I am actually witnessing something like this happening in Tudun Wada.
“A lot of our family members were also recognised. We also received a certificate on behalf of our late father, Alhaji Ibrahim Bala, who was also a very well-known person. I’m very proud to be part of this community.”
On his part, the Executive Director, Editorial and Digital of the Media Trust, Malam Naziru Mikail, congratulated the new Matawalle on the appointment and also appreciated members of the community for honouring their son.
“This is a well-deserved title and it shows that the community has seen what he has done over the years for them. It is a well-deserved recognition and we pray to Almighty Allah to help him and guide him and also to continue to bless the community,” he said.
Other people turbaned along with the Matawalle were the Madaki of Tudun Wada, Sa’in Tudun Wada, Dan Masanin Tudun Wada, Talban Tudun Wada and Zannan Tudun Wada, among others.
