Igoche Mark reiterates commitment to Mark D Ball basketball tourney

The initiator of Mark D Ball Basketball Championship, Igoche Mark, has reiterated commitment to the tournament as he also expressed happiness with its impact on the sport in Nigeria in the year 2022.

In his New Year message, the proprietor of Mark Mentors and Apa Flames basketball clubs noted that the little achievement in 2022 was met with great resistance by those he described as “enemies of the game”.

“The New Face of Basketball, organiser of Mark D Ball Basketball Championship is so blessed and happy to note that our little impact in the game of basketball in 2022 was as a result of partnership with stakeholders; players, coaches, technical officials, referees, club owners, administrators, veterans and the media.

“The year was one of mixed feelings as our attempt to get the ball bouncing was fought with great resistance by the enemies of the game, alongside state actors.

“These enemies ensured that the D’Tigress became the biggest victims in the year 2022. They denied our ladies the chance to participate at the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Sidney, Australia,” Mark said in a statement.

He, however, promised that the ‘New Face of Basketball’ has come to stay as he assured stakeholders and lovers of the game of a better 2023 edition of Mark D Ball Basketball Championship.

“Let me use this medium to inform all stakeholders that the 2023 edition of Mark D Basketball Championship will become a reference point in Africa, as we will soon let the cat out of the bag,” he pledged.
