An official of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) has evacuated the corpse of a young man dumped inside the drainage in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
Our correspondent, who visited the scene on Saturday morning, sighted a young man covered with blood and dumped near a transformer unit at Old GRA, near the former International School on Damboa road, Maiduguri.
It was gathered that the corpse was found inside the drainage by the residents of the former International School Street who alerted the CJTF Commander in Damboa circular junction of the Maiduguri metropolitan council.
Speaking with Daily Trust, a member of the task force, Ba’na Umaru, said the dead body was bought to the area by an unknown person at midnight.

“We received distress calls this morning that a dead body was found in this area, we have alerted the security agencies including GRA Police Station and NSCDC.
“It is a sad incident, one of his eyes was plucked put, and his hands and some other parts of his body were removed. We have been directed by police to evacuate the corpse,” Ba’na said.
One of the residents, Mohammed Kunima, who was among those who first saw the corpse, said the lifeless body of the young man dump near the family house.
“I have never seen something like this before, we were shocked to see this corpse being brought to our street by wicked people. Allah will continue to protect us from evil men.” Mohammed said.
The state Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar, visited the scene but declined to speak to our correspondent when he was asked about his reaction.
The corpse was later deposited at the morgue by CJTF.
