A magistrates’ court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has sentenced a 20-year-old man, Akeem Quadri, to 14 years imprisonment for sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl.
The prosecutor of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adeola Oluwaseun, had told the court that the accused on June 9, 2022, at the Bode Olude area of Abeokuta, went to buy sachet water from the girl’s mother and then asked her to bring a cup for him to where he was laying bricks and thereafter raped her.
The Magistrate, Mrs I. O. Abudu, held that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt that the convict was guilty as charged.
