Kwara APC chairman speaks on Lai, Abdulrahman’s rift

Prince Sunday Fagbemi, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, has described the frosty relationship between Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed as “the more you look, the less you see”.

Fagbemi said this while speaking with journalists at a programme organised by the APC campaign council in the state.

According to him, “Alhaji Lai Mohammed has not said he is no longer a member of the APC. The minister is our leader and still part of us. He will participate in the 2023 general elections with us. The closer you look, the lesser you see as it concerns APC in Kwara.

“Never mind, by the time the election comes, you will see that we’re going to win by a bigger margin than what happened in 2019” he noted.

On his part, chairman of the council, Ambassador Yahaya Seriki, said those who have left are not finding it easy in their new parties.

He said the exodus of governorship and senatorial candidates of other parties from the APC will not have a negative effect on the chances of the governor in 2023 adding that they are already talking to bring them back including PDP.

Also speaking, the campaign council spokesperson, Florence Oyeyemi, said the governor is not using governance to score political points.
