85% of our supply chain locally sourced – Eat’N’Go

In its bid to support Nigerian farmers and businesses, Eat’N’Go, Africa’s leading franchisee for Domino’s Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery, and Pinkberry Gourmet Frozen Yoghurt brands, has disclosed that 85 per cent of its supply chain is locally sourced.

The Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Eat’N’Go Africa, Mr Patrick McMichael, who disclosed this in an interview on the sideline of the signing of a partnership with Jumia Food, said the company is working on some projects that would ensure the full localisation of the supply chain.

“So about 85% of our supply chain is localised. You know, we want to lift that number up considerably. And as we grow pan Africa, I think the most exciting thing for Nigeria, specifically, is that we’ve built this supply chain in the country.

“There are a lot of products that are made specifically for us in Nigeria; those companies that got behind us in the beginning are going to have the opportunity to export from Nigeria to other countries in Africa as we expand.

“So it’s not only just Nigeria benefiting from us being in Nigeria, but it’s also Nigeria benefiting from us growing across Africa,” he said.

He noted that the partnership with Jumia would have a ripple effect on human capital and economic development as it will improve the direct employment and growth of staff as well as the supply chain.

Speaking during the event, Chief Executive Officer, Jumia Nigeria, Massimiliano Spalazzi, said the partnership will provide a steady supply of Domino’s portfolio to consumers through the Jumia Food platform and ensure they receive their orders in the shortest time possible.
