Fuel scarcity: NMDPRA moves to sanction erring major marketers in Kano

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency (NMDPRA) has revealed that many major marketers in Kano were found either selling above the approved pump price of N185 per litre or not dispensing at all after manifests have shown that they have received supply of the product and as such the agency vows to sanctioned any major marketer found guilty.

This was disclosed by the NMDPRA Kano State Coordinator, Malam Ali Sama during an inspection tour to major marketer’s filling stations in the state.

According to him, there is no need for fuel scarcity in the state if major marketers are dispensing accordingly adding that it is unfortunate that major marketers in Kano State had received over 661 trucks from 2nd December to December 19th and yet the scarcity persists in the state.

“We have ordered for the sales of the commodity and we will definitely take disciplinary measures against any erring filling station,” he said.
