2023 census: NPC harps on accurate data collection

The National Population Commission (NPC) says quality and accurate data collected during the 2023 population and housing census will determine its success and subsequent use for decision-making.

Chairman, NPC, Nasir Isah Kwarra, who made the submission yesterday in Abuja said accurate data is essential for ensuring that communities in the country are properly represented and supported. Speaking during a workshop for 150 quality data managers for the census, Kwarra said data with the highest quality provides insights and information needed for the government to make informed decisions to accelerate development.

“The credibility, acceptance and use of the data generated from the 2023 population and housing census is highly dependent on its quality. It is important to manage the quality of the census data relative to all components, composition and process of the census activities.”
