The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency says about 54 million Nigerians have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 while over 60 million have taken the first dose of the vaccine.
The Executive Director of the agency, Faisal Shuaib, stated this on Thursday in Abuja during the agency’s COVID-19 performance review meeting.
He said the agency had targeted vaccinating 70 percent of the eligible population by December 2022 and had exceeded expectations by fully vaccinating 53 % of the population, 63% for the first dose.
He commended the governors of Nasarawa, Jigawa, Kwara, Kaduna and Borno States for providing the resources for primary health care.
