The presidential candidates of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Engr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Peter Umeadi, have called for credible and peaceful elections that will further deepen the nation’s democracy.
They made the call during a meeting on Monday in Abuja where they reviewed the country’s political situation, according to a statement by NNPP’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr Agbo Major.
Major said the meeting was part of consultations by Kwankwaso with national leaders, traditional and religious leaders, and eminent Nigerians with a view to building a new Nigeria anchored on justice, equity, infrastructure, education, industrialization, security, prosperity and abundant delivery of dividends of democracy which only NNPP could offer if voted into office.
He said, “A grassroots politician, Engr. Kwankwaso, has met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar.
“Others included Governor Nyesom Wike, elder statesman, Chief Olu Falae, former governors Donald Duke and Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
“The nationwide consultation continues as the party is poised to win the upcoming presidential election with the support of Nigerians and like-minded political parties. From every indication a new Nigeria is possible with NNPP. We are all in it together.”
